You don't need to be a programmer to create a Roblox game. Studio's templates give you a working game on day one — your job is to make it yours.
Install Roblox Studio
- Sign in to roblox.com.
- Click Create at the top of the page, then Start Creating.
- Studio downloads and installs automatically.
- Launch Studio and sign in with the same account.
Pick a template
On Studio's start screen, choose New → Templates. There are dozens covering most genres. "Baseplate" is a blank canvas. "Obby" gives you a working obstacle course. "Racing" gives you a working race.
Make it yours
Click parts in the viewport to move, scale, and color them. Right-click → Insert Object → Part adds new parts. The Toolbox (View → Toolbox) lets you drag in free models, sounds, and effects.
Test it
Click Play at the top to drop into your game as a player. Move around, jump, and see if everything works. Press Esc to stop testing.
Publish it
When you're ready, click File → Publish to Roblox. Give your game a name and a thumbnail. It's now live at your-username.roblox.com.
