How to Clear the Roblox Cache

Roblox stores downloaded assets so games load faster the second time you play them. When the cache gets corrupted you'll see slow loads, missing textures, and odd crashes. Clearing it is safe — Roblox will rebuild the cache on next launch.

Windows

  1. Close Roblox completely, including any Roblox icon in the system tray.
  2. Press Win + R, type %LocalAppData%/Roblox and press Enter.
  3. Open the LocalStorage folder and delete its contents.
  4. Inside the Versions folder, you can also delete the http subfolders to clear the asset cache. Leave the rest alone.
  5. Launch Roblox again — the cache rebuilds automatically.

macOS

  1. Quit Roblox.
  2. In Finder, press Cmd + Shift + G and go to ~/Library/Roblox.
  3. Delete the contents of the logs and http folders.
  4. Launch Roblox again.

iPhone and Android

Mobile Roblox doesn't expose a cache button. The reliable way to clear it is to uninstall and reinstall the app. Your account is saved in the cloud, so nothing is lost.

  1. Sign out of Roblox.
  2. Long-press the Roblox app icon and choose Uninstall (Android) or Delete App (iOS).
  3. Reinstall from the Play Store or App Store.
  4. Sign in.

What clearing the cache won't do

It won't sign you out of your account, undo any purchases, or delete your friend list. It also won't fix problems caused by a corrupted install — for those you need to reinstall Roblox, not just clear the cache.

How often should I clear the Roblox cache?
Only when you're troubleshooting. There's no benefit to doing it regularly.
Will I lose progress in games after clearing the cache?
No. Game progress is saved server-side by each game, not in your local cache.
Does clearing the cache make Roblox faster?
It makes the first load of every game slower (assets must download again), then back to normal. It only helps when the cache itself is the problem.
Where does Roblox store its cache?
On Windows, %LocalAppData%/Roblox. On Mac, ~/Library/Roblox. On mobile, inside the app's private storage which isn't user-accessible.
