Error 529 is an HTTP service error — Roblox's backend services couldn't respond to a request your client made. It's the closest thing Roblox has to a "503" page, and it usually points at a server-side incident.
Check Roblox first
Open status.roblox.com in another tab. If multiple services are red or yellow, error 529 is a confirmed outage — there's nothing to fix on your side. Wait for the status page to go green.
If status is green but you still see 529
Try these in order:
- Sign out of Roblox and sign back in.
- Clear your browser cache for roblox.com.
- Restart your router to refresh your IP — some 529 cases come from rate limiting on a shared IP.
- Disable VPNs and proxies before retrying.
- Reinstall the Roblox client if 529 happens on launch.
Specific situations
On Xbox or PlayStation
Console 529 errors usually clear by signing out of the Roblox app and signing back in. If it persists, reboot the console fully (not sleep).
When trying to buy Robux
If 529 appears during a purchase, do not retry repeatedly. Wait several minutes — the charge may already have been processed.
