How to Play Roblox on PC

2 min read Updated

Playing Roblox on PC gives you the largest game library and the best controls. Here's the full workflow from install to first match.

Install Roblox

Follow our how-to-download-roblox guide if you haven't already. On PC the player runs as a desktop app, not a browser tab.

Open roblox.com in a browser, sign in, then pick a game. The site hands the join off to your installed desktop client.

Basic controls

  • WASD or arrow keys to move.
  • Spacebar to jump.
  • Mouse to look around. Right-click drag rotates the camera.
  • Scroll wheel zooms.
  • Shift to shift-lock (in supported games) so your character faces the camera.
  • Tab or numeric keys to switch held items in many games.
  • / to open chat, Esc to open the Roblox menu.

Find good games

Use the Discover tab on the home page or read our "Best Roblox Games" lists. Filter by category if you have a genre in mind.

Adjust graphics for smooth play

Press Esc, choose Settings, and switch Graphics Mode to Manual. Start with a quality of 4–6 and raise it if your FPS stays above 60.
