How to Change Your Roblox Username

Roblox lets you change your username, but it isn't free — it costs 1,000 Robux each time. Old usernames are visible on your profile under "Previous usernames". Choose carefully.

What you need

  • An account with 1,000 Robux available.
  • A verified email on the account.
  • A new username that meets Roblox's rules: 3–20 characters, letters and digits, one underscore allowed.

Step-by-step

  1. Sign in to roblox.com on a browser (the option isn't always exposed on mobile).
  2. Click the gear icon → Settings.
  3. Go to Account Info.
  4. Click the small change link next to your username.
  5. Type your new username, confirm your password, and click Buy.

What happens to your old username

Your old name stays visible under Previous Usernames on your profile so friends can still find you. The old name is reserved for you for a period of time before it can be claimed by someone else.

Look up the new name on Roblox to confirm it isn't already taken. Try it out loud — clever spellings often read awkwardly in chat.
