How to Spot and Avoid Roblox Scams

Most Roblox scams look obvious in hindsight, but they work because they catch people off guard. Learn the categories and you'll spot every variation.

The five scam categories

  • Free Robux promises — generators, surveys, codes for liking a video. All fake.
  • Phishing pages — login forms on sites that look like Roblox but aren't.
  • Trade scams — offers that look generous but use fake or stolen items.
  • Impersonator support — DMs from accounts pretending to be Roblox staff.
  • Cookie loggers — sites or extensions that steal your session cookie when you visit them.

Rules that defeat all of them

  • Roblox staff never DM users about violations.
  • There is no way to generate free Robux. None.
  • Never enter your password on any site that isn't roblox.com.
  • Never install browser extensions, scripts, or downloads that claim to enhance Roblox.
  • If a trade looks too good to be true, it is.
  • Move slow on big trades. Scammers create artificial urgency.

What to do if you almost fell for one

If you entered your password on a fake site, change it immediately on the real Roblox site, sign out of all sessions, and turn on 2-step verification. Then run a full antivirus scan in case anything was installed.

If you're a parent

Teach kids that any free-Robux offer is a scam, and that Roblox staff never DM. Spending controls and a verified email on the parent's address add a hard layer that no scammer can bypass.
